Wine made from the grapes of the homonymous variety.
It is bright ruby red with purple hues.
It offers a very pleasant bouquet of violets over an increasing aroma of bramble, raspberry, prune and cherry.
The flavour is dry, full, with balanced tannins.
An unexpected smoothness mitigates the slightly bitter finish.

Wines of Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Friuli-Venezia Giulia lies in the top-right corner of Italy, between Austria, Slovenia, the Adriatic Sea, and Veneto (Venice). Although the region is relatively small compared to the rest of Italy, it ranks among the best producers of wines.
This wines is produced on the Collio, the DOC certificated wine-producing hills in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The hills extend northern than Gorizia, next to the border with Slovenia and cover an area of 1500 hectares of south-exposed vineyards and disposed for a valuable and specific vinery.
The Julian Prealps behind them are a natural defense against the cold winds from the North, whereas the near-by Adriatic Sea helps creating a mild and temperate microclimate.
The earth is composed by malm rock and layered sandstone with an Eocenic origin. Season after season these rocks crumble because of the action of the atmospheric agents and they become a perfect substrate for vineyards.
Vines training uses mostly the traditional Cappucina method, but for Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvingon the company uses the Guyot method. Each hectare produces about 85/90 quintal of grapes.
Today the brand is connected to a young and dynamic company, even though the family has been producing wine since 1924.
MISSION
The company philosophy is to be an innovative company which is proud of its own history, rooted in contemporaneity and oriented towards the future.
The love for the territory and the viticulture and a special attention in producing grapes that maintain the traditional taste of the Collio are to be found in the red and white wines and in “cru” wines. The first ones are vinified from an accurate selection of grapes in the DOC certificated Collio vineyards; the second ones are vinified from selected vineyards after agronomical and oenological processes made with care for limited productions.
The complexity of aromas, the richness and wideness of tastes make this wines high quality products: bottles contain passion for excellence, research for perfection and sustainability.
