Wine Description
'Vurria' is Sicilian for vorrei, and means to desire.
The Nerello Mascalese cuttings from Randazzo, Etna, where the Sicilian grape originate were introduced to Sambuca di Sicilia in 1968.
The family now cultivates a total of 5 hectares of the native Sicilian grape, planted at medium elevation on volcanic rich soil.
Hand harvested grapes are destemmed followed by fermentation and warm maceration for 18 days on the skins in stainless steel tank.
The wine is partially aged for 6 months in barrels.
The wine is aged in bottle 1 year before release.
