WINEMAKING:

Made from GLERA, the grape formerly known, itself, as Prosecco.

Although the name is derived from that of the Italian village of Prosecco near Trieste, where the grape may have originated, DOC Prosecco is produced in the regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Prosecco usually is produced using the Charmat method, in which the secondary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, making the wine less expansive to produce.

Prosecco is produced mainly as a sparkling wine in either the fully sparkling (Spumante) or lightly sparkling (Frizzante, gentile) varieties. Prosecco Spumante, which has undergone a full secondary fermentation, is the more expansive variant. Depending on their sweetness, in accordance with the EU Sweetness of wine Regulation for Terms used to indicate sweetness of sparkling wine, Proseccos are labelled Brut, Extra Dry or Dry.

THE WINERY

Winery was established in Aquileia, a unique location rich in history and where the winemaking tradition dates back to 200 BC.

It is here that we tend to our native grape varieties with great respect for tradition.

Our aim is to enhance the native characteristics of our wines, making them recognizable as originating this particular region and their impeccable winemaking.

LAND

The vineyards cover several terroirs within the DOC Friuli Aquileia and DOC Friuli Colli Orientali areas.

Different terroirs indeed that share a unique culture, which is all about tradition and strong attachment to the land

This region in the north-east of Italy, squeezed between the Upper Adriatic and the Carnic and Julian Alps, presents an incredible variety of soils. Indeed, in the same plot of land you can have patches of yellow marls with alternate streaks of pebbles and dark clay with sand.

DOC FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI

The area of the DOC Friuli Colli Orientali includes the range of hill in the Province of Udine.

The wines produced in this area are the result of a unique combination of soil, climate and grape variety.

These very favourable pedoclimatic conditions have allowed these native varieties to flourish
The native varieties as well as those imported to the area that found the most suitable pedoclimatic conditions in the Colli Orientali area, have been cultivated since unmemorable times,  yielding wines of excellence in terms of quality.

The Vineyard

THE WINES

We craft wines from grapes grown in our estate vineyards in the DOC Friuli Aquileia and DOC Friuli Colli Orientali areas.

We produce varieties that are typical of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

"Land that lies at the northern end of the Mediterranean Sea"

In the vineyards that stand on the hills of the DOC Friuli Colli Orientali area we grow Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Schioppettino and Pignolo.

These lands of alluvial origin, and long since devoted to agriculture, feature soils with good pebble-gravel texture which are suitable for white grape vines, while the red grape cultivars naturally grow well on the hills where the soils are rich with clay.

Thanks to an exceptionally suitable microclimate, an ideal exposure of the vineyards, and not less important, careful and sensible farming techniques, we produce wines that are important and appealing.
